Age Discrimination
The ADEA prohibits employers, government agencies, and labor organizations from discriminating against people between the ages of 40 and 70 because of age. 29 USC 621 et seq.
- This coverage is less extensive than in Michigan, which has no age limits. Hostile environment claims are recognized under the ADEA.
To file suit under the ADEA, an individual must first file a charge with either the MDCR or the EEOC and obtain a right to sue letter.
